Our Story

The Goldcoast Literacy Program is a nonprofit organization founded in 2017 by Daisy Mina Antwi, with a passionate focus on children's literacy advocacy in slums and rural areas of Ghana. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure every child enjoys reading and has access to quality education.

We believe in making education fun, accessible, and sustainable. Our journey began with a vision to create an illiteracy-free world where no child is left behind, regardless of their geographical location or socioeconomic background.

Since our inception, we have undertaken significant outreach initiatives across Ghana, delivering books, educational materials, and hope to communities that need it most. Our motto "#changingthenarrative #nonleftbehind" drives everything we do.

Daisy Mina Antwi

Founder & Director

Passionate advocate for children's literacy and education equity. Founded the Goldcoast Literacy Program in 2017 with a vision to ensure every child in Ghana has access to quality education. Daisy leads our mission to make education fun, accessible, and sustainable, particularly focusing on underserved communities in slums and rural areas.

Jean-Claude A.

Head of I.T

Technology leader with extensive experience in IT infrastructure and digital solutions. Jean-Claude manages all technical operations, ensuring our digital platforms run smoothly and securely. He specializes in system Administration, Software development, and implementing innovative technology solutions to enhance our educational outreach programs.

Sussana Akoto-Lamptey

Volunteer Manager

Dynamic volunteer manager with expertise in team coordination and community engagement. Sussana recruits, trains, and manages our dedicated volunteer network across Ghana. Her skills in volunteer motivation, scheduling, and program coordination ensure our literacy initiatives have the human resources needed to succeed. She creates meaningful volunteer experiences that empower community members to contribute to children's education and development.

Linda Jackson

Head of Welfare

Compassionate welfare leader dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, families, and our team members across Ghana. Linda oversees all welfare programs, providing essential care, assistance, and protection to those in need. She ensures that both our community members and staff receive the comprehensive support they need to thrive and succeed in their vital work.

Benard Mensah

Media and Branding

Creative media professional specializing in photography and visual storytelling. Benard captures the impactful moments of our literacy programs and community outreach initiatives. His expertise in documentary photography and digital media helps showcase our work, creating compelling visual content that shares our mission and inspires support for children's education across Ghana.

Mariam Lamptey

Operations & PR

Strategic operations and public relations professional with expertise in organizational management and media relations. Mariam coordinates our operational logistics while managing our public image and communications strategy. Her skills in stakeholder engagement, event planning, and brand representation ensure our organization maintains strong relationships with partners, media, and the communities we serve throughout Ghana.

Abigail Kanor

Monitoring & Evaluation

Detail-oriented monitoring and evaluation specialist with expertise in data analysis and impact assessment. Abigail designs and implements robust M&E frameworks to measure the effectiveness of our literacy programs. Her skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis, reporting, and performance metrics ensure we can track progress, demonstrate outcomes, and continuously improve our educational initiatives to maximize impact on children's learning across Ghana.

Organizing yearly educational events to celebrate learning and showcase student achievements across communities.

Teenage Mother Support

Supporting teenage mothers with birthing assistance and educational opportunities to break the cycle of poverty.

Children Legal Aid

Providing legal support and advocacy for children's rights and protection in vulnerable communities.

Community Outreaches

Regular community visits and outreach programs to deliver educational materials, health supplies, and support directly to families and children who need it most.

Nzulezu Village Outreach

In March 2021, we undertook a remarkable journey to Nzulezu, a unique village built on stilts in Lake Tadane. This weekend-long event delivered books, educational materials, and health supplies to one of Ghana's most remote communities.

Immune Your Mind Outreach
